We buy art and memorabilia collections

Some collections do not fit a category. A wall of regional paintings, a footlocker of wartime insignia, boxes of signed letters, forty years of a single sport followed obsessively. These are the estates where general buyers shrug and offer a round number for everything.

They are priced against specialist markets instead. Signed art gets checked for the signature and the provenance that supports it; militaria is valued by unit, period and whether the grouping stayed together — a named grouping with documents is worth far more intact than split up; autographs live or die on authentication.

Where something needs an outside opinion to be priced fairly, we get one before making an offer rather than discounting for our own uncertainty. That takes a few days and it usually works in the seller's favour.
